The Hult Prize is an annual, year-long competition that crowdsources ideas from university-level students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue around topics such as food security, water access, energy, and education.


  • Students from any college or university in the world.
  • Applicants must form a team of three to four persons.
  • You are considered a student if at the time of application submission, you have not yet graduated; alumni and faculty are not allowed to be official team member.


  • A US$1,000,000 seed capital grant to a university team of students who are selected as Hult Prize Laureate at the annual Awards Ceremony and Gala hosted by the United Nations.
