  • The Champion and 1st Runner-up Teams will be awarded a startup prize money that will enable them to implement the first phase of their business plan for their social enterprise under mentorship.
  • Each member of the two Champion Teams will receive a Startup Award of $75,000, while members of the 1st Runner-up Teams will receive $37,500 each.

A HKSEC social venture plan may address any local, national, regional, or global social need. For example, you may address problems faced by senior citizens, medical patients, youth or new immigrants. The plan may address problems of poverty, healthcare, education, the environment, information and communication technology, social services, agriculture, distribution or manufacturing. The proposed social venture model should contain at least the double bottom line, that is, a sustainable financial return and a distinguished social mission. Environmental neutrality is the third bottom line that is always welcome.

iDiya is a great platform for social entrepreneurs (or aspiring social entrepreneurs) to showcase their ideas and get mentored by venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, social activists and faculty members in order to help convert their visions to reality. Teams of 2 to 4 working professionals submit an executive summary of their business plans or ideas for evaluation along criteria such as social impact, criticality of the social need and sustainability of the enterprise.

The 10 best ideas are invited to ISB’s Hyderabad campus for a week-long, all-expenses-paid bootcamp followed by the main competition day where teams present their business plans to an esteemed jury. The bootcamp provides the teams an opportunity to network with renowned businessmen and organizations that will provide mentoring support not just during the bootcamp but even afterwards.

TATA Social Enterprise Challenge, is a joint initiative by the TATA group and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), a National Level challenge to find India’s most promising social enterprises. Also aimed at raising awareness about Social Entrepreneurship, TATA Social Enterprise Challenge aims to encourage the youth to step up to be the next generation of social entrepreneurs.

The challenge will invite social entrepreneurs from across India, who either have an early stage venture or an idea with a proof of concept. The proposed venture needs to have a sustainable business model that creates social impact. There is no restriction on the business model and it can be for-profit, not for profit or even a hybrid model.

The SDG Open Hack is an atypical hackathon that promotes innovation & entrepreneurship, cultivates leadership, creativity, mobility, international competence, and teamwork ability. It is open to current university students studying in Singapore, encourages cross universities and disciplines to form a team to solve societal and/or environmental challenges, by way of learning UN 17 SDGs. Students can freely choose challenge topics according to their interests, form an interdisciplinary innovation team online, and work hard to develop innovative solutions within 24 hours for challenges related to a certain field virtually. The shortlisted solutions will be presented to the judges and the public during the Grand Finale and Awards Ceremony on 24 May 2021.
